Playing with your Food (not really)

The other night my Mom, who was very sick for about 6 weeks, took pity on me and let me out for a nighttime playdate with my sister Lucy. Now, if you know my Mom, you’d know that close-to-bedtime playdates are really a rare thing. Almost non-existent. But, as I said, she was very sick over the Christmas Holidays and some into January, so she’s felt pretty bad for me, being cooped up in my room a lot, and not allowed out. SO, I looked really sadly at her, and began to whine a little, and she said, “Ya know what Murph? You and Lucy haven’t gotten to play very much the past two months… just this once, I think you guys can play for a half hour before bedtime…” and she called Lucy and let me out and we had a great time. Although, while I was trying to figure out how to con Mom inot 15 more mintues, Lucy LICKED me. And as I have stated in the past, it’s all good until you lick your brother. BLECH. So I was done. But we had fun until then. If I could ONLY figure out how to get her to NOT lick me. She gets so excited for us to be playing that she can’t help it, I guess. (let’s face it, I AM good times and fun to hang out with, but that is still no reason to LICK me.)

At any rate, Christmas was quiet. I got a new lamp AND a new fuzzy bed for my room… Lucy got a Grover stuffed animal (she loves him) and a new play fort. A small one for upstairs in the office. It’s a triangle shape one too, so we kinda match. Who knew?

My new Lamp. It's easier to read Kermit in the dark...

But Mom was in bed for Christmas and New Year’s and more.
Dad went around places without her. Me and Lucy sat around in her room with her, trying to cheer her up. I think we did a pretty good job. We hung out napping while she read through the Harry Potter series AGAIN. Dunno why she’s always reading those. I prefer watching Sesame Street, myself… Lucy too.

But Mom had what SHE called the Piggy flu and what is really called the H1N1 flu.I am very glad she’s better now – life was kinda boring while she was sick. ALTHOUGH, she was home for a bunch of weeks and that NEVER happens! That part made us happy.

Now she is back to playing games with me and singing with me and giving me treats.

We play a new game now… she picks out a really yummy special treat to put in with my food… (you know how this Murph digs a good treat) and she hides it in the bowl under my rice krispies or cheerios. I can find it REALLY quick. Then she claps and yells yay and I yell yay and it’s fun times! Today’s treat was a piece of waffle with jam on it. MMMmm MMMmmmm. Good stuff!

Well. Mom is back to work now, so she’s getting ready to go which means she’s taking the computer. I will listen to music as Lucy annoys me while Mom is at work and Dad is downstairs puttering around.

It’s good to back online! (I wonder if I can con my Mom into another playdate before bed tonight?)

Me & Lucy!
